Hostinger consistently ranks as one of the most affordable hosting options at $2.99/month. But cheap hosting often means slow sites, bad support, and hidden upsells. We hosted a test site on Hostinger for 6 months to see if the value is real.
What Hostinger Does Well
The onboarding experience is polished. WordPress installs in under 2 minutes, the control panel (hPanel) is cleaner than traditional cPanel, and the AI website builder can generate a basic site from a text description. For absolute beginners, Hostinger removes most friction from getting online.
Speed is decent for the price. With LiteSpeed web server and built-in caching, our test site loaded in 1.5-2 seconds. Not blazing, but competitive with hosts costing 3-4x more.
Where It Falls Short
The advertised $2.99/month price requires a 4-year commitment. Month-to-month pricing is significantly higher. Renewal rates also jump — expect to pay 2-3x the intro price when your term ends.
PHP worker limits on lower plans can cause issues for sites running complex plugins or automation webhooks. If you’re building an AI-powered site with n8n integrations, Hostinger’s cheaper plans may bottleneck.
Pricing
Premium: $2.99/month (4-year term). Business: $3.99/month (4-year). Cloud Startup: $9.99/month.
Our Verdict
Hostinger is the best budget hosting option for beginners and simple WordPress sites. For AI-powered businesses running automation workflows, invest in WPX or Kinsta instead.
